Completed in 1735, Blandford Church is an early example of the church building styles popularized in America. During the early 20th century, after the church had been long abandoned, it was restored as a Confederate memorial chapel, honoring the fallen soldiers of the South. One of the most beautiful and remarked upon aspects of the church are its large stained glass windows, each displaying the image of a Saint and their traditional symbols and items: these are explained in-depth on the guided tours of the church that take place many times daily. The church is located at Blandford Cemetery, near Petersburg National Battlefield and the town's other museums: the Siege Museum and the Centre Hill Museum.
